Indicted Megaupload founder Kim Dotcom launched a new file-sharing website on Sunday, promising users amped-up privacy levels in a defiant move against the U.S. prosecutors who accuse him of facilitating massive online piracy. The colorful entrepreneur unveiled the "Mega" site ahead of a lavish gala and press conference at his New Zealand mansion on Sunday night, the anniversary of his arrest on racketeering charges related to his now-shuttered Megaupload file-sharing site. Megaupload, which Dotcom started in 2005, was one of the most popular sites on the Web until U.S. prosecutors shut it down, accusing Dotcom and several company officials of facilitating millions of illegal downloads.

the founder sort of resembles blubber guts, except despite his obesity he is doing something useful for his fellow citizens of the world.

This dude is a celebrity here now - he is very clever, he delivered free Icecream to local schools [handing it out himself], invites his Twitter followers for a fun-filled day at his mansion [swimming, meals, helicopter rides] and buys random expensive shit for underpriveliged kids.

His PR scheme has made a fool of the FBI and Police - he hob-nobs with celebs and is like Jesus when he walks down the streets.

Clever man, I hope it all works out for him.

Oh, and he is a rap star....

he actually is - the problem is all the holes in the case - he is totally going to get off the charges. The NZ police, in their desire to please the FBI, bungled the raid, and now the FBI have huge holes as well, they cant even get an arrest.

actually there is something interesting about that URL. it resolves back to Cogent Communications in Washington DC rather than NZ.

Yes, he is appreciative of the support from NZ, so I believe he wanted NZ in the title of the URL.

Dude is even getting into politics here....very clever man
