J. deGrom vs J. Cueto
DeGrom is strugglllliiingggg as Joe Namath would say....
Weird, he had two strikes on a bunch of guys and then left pitches fat.
Happens sometimes for young pitchers in big games...
deGrom is a strikeout pitcher & this KC lineup is relentless. Fuckers never strikeout.
In 86, Mets lost the first two at Shea. No worries.
I keep telling myself that to make myself feel better. Having the lead in the 9th & blowing it last night is making me fucking mental though.
Yep, there's no way the Mets are out of this thing at all.
Thor & Matz are gonna have to step up for us this weekend. Can't believe Cueto outpitched our ace.
Hate to say this but last night was game 7...if they won then they would have taken it all.
They blew that game in the 1st. That was the dumb run to spot the Royals...it would not have gone to extra innings otherwise.
Cueto was sickly locked in and the Royals' bats gave him huge support. Just one of those games when everything clicked for them. But things can turn on a dime next game.
Oh I know. I keep asking myself what would've happened had Lagares been playing center last night. And there's no fucking reason Cuddyer should've been in the lineup.
I'm just worried about them putting all these balls in play. Our defense isn't great & KC is exposing it.
I don't follow the Mets to closely, obviously I know they have excellent pitching, but-they seem to have an anemic offense, do they always hit this bad? I'm rooting for them to win, but shoot-they have to freaking hit-no?
I'm detached from them....and yet that game bothered me like 88 so I know what fans like you that stuck with them since Shea closed must be going through now.
They could have won...and the confidence would have been through the roof.
Timo and Armando...that's who these two are now to me.
I hear you--this is not good. But hey, the 2004 Red Sox came back from 0-3 in the 2004 ALCS to beat the Yanks and advance to the WS. The Mets will regroup, put Noah out there, and he'll pitch the game of his life.
Their offense is always extremely streaky. Cespedes is either on a mad tear or makes me want to pull my fucking hair out swinging at shit pitches. Duda is the same but he seems to be more locked in as of late. Wright hasn't been taking outside fastballs to the RF gap which used to be his strength.
Yes. They're only here because they improved their offense late in the season.
Normally it's worse.
Cespedes tries to hit 3 run homers with nobody on base. He needs to get a better feel for the strikezone & start drawing walks and hitting singles to get a rally going.
They were below average in BA and OBP this season, but near the top in home runs. Only one solo shot so far this series.
