Temixco is a pretty nice place. It's well south of most of the ick of Mexico City and just north of Cuernavaca, a very nice city.
Both cities are perfect climate (like San Diego) and tourist destinations for nationals on the weekends.
...so why would the mayor be killed? drugs?
Mexican pres blames America in 3....2.....1.
They went looking for mota but found the wrong Mota instead.
Likely she was representing the wrong party and not aligned with the local cartel. Morelos is a big state. Organized crime is still big (like everywhere) and usually civilians hardly feel it's effects.
...be interesting to know. i wonder if she ran on a promise to clean up the corruption. they dont fool around thats for sure.
Not sure I would ever visit even the nicer areas of Mexico...
Never mess with Los Zetas and their drugs. This is why it is so hard to change Mexico and it's drug and criminal ways. Try to crack down on drugs and gangs and you're dead.
There's crime everywhere in this world. Border towns and drug cartel crossroads are the worst.
Mexico City, though full of sketchy areas, is a beautiful city. World class restaurants, museums, architecture...
Cuernavaca, near where this happened is like Sedona is to Phoenix. Just stunning.
I love Mexico and will likely retire there.
Plata o plomo
Take a bribe or take a bullet
Take the silver or take the lead...
You got it. If it's still a nice city despite the crime, then accept that and take the money instead of vowing to eliminate crime. No place is perfect.
Is that more of the culture illegals want to share with America?
Business as usual.
Too bad the young men who could fight this kind of corruption and crime don't live there anymore.
Bunch of lovely people.
