as much as i hate jordan, he makes a point. during the latter stages of jordan's career, the NBA became run and shoot, street ball. the don't run plays anymore, they just fast break and pull up or dunk. when i noticed that start to happen, i abandoned watching basketball.

Schmippy's not reading that, but he agrees with Jordan. Schmippy hasn't been interested in the NBA since Jordan retired.:grad:

There was no one happier than me when the Bulls were winning their titles, but Jordan comes off as a bitter old guy who's afraid of losing the spotlight.

Fast break ball was the way it was before Jordan got in the league. Source: the 70's Celtics

duly noted but notice i said the league. the celts used it to wear teams down. when it became league wide, it made the NBA look like the And1 league. take the run and shoot shit back to the playground with chain nets.

I think the way they play now has a lot to do with the fact that you can't even breathe on a guy anymore without getting a foul. It's all finesse type flashy shit.

it's what this asshole generation of fan wants to see. they want flash, they want flair. god forbid you run a play and set a pick. i blame it on the lack of white point guards. stockton and price ran the point and would set some shit up.

San Antonio runs the pick and roll to perfection still. What people, and the league, got tired of seeing, were what Fratello did with the Cavs, and Riley and Van Gundy did with the Knicks where due to shit offensive talent they took the air out of the ball and started winning by boring everyone to death by shooting in the 30% range and playing a lot of grabby ugly defense that resulted in games with scores like 72-60.

honestly, i haven't watched in years. i can barely name a player, coach or even a team that's moved.
