why don't they just send another update that uninstalls the update?

exactly. What pisses me off is that my father prolly has the update, I didn't even know I had it, and there is no way I could talk him how to uninstall the update via telephone.

So I'm hoping that most computers will be fine with it, if not there would have been a bigger problem already, and here is the first place I heard about it.

I know for sure that my laptop at home got this update. I guess I should check to see if it is still alive when I get home. :pissed:

"The problems we have experienced were on machines with Kaspersky Endpoint Security 8 for Windows,"

Microsoft, however was vague about the causes of the BSODs and endless reboots, saying only that, "We've determined that the update, when paired with certain third-party software, can cause system errors."

In Brazil, affected PCs seemed to be limited to ones with the "G-Buster" plug-in -- a widely used browser security add-on that many of the country's banks require their customers to install, said Wolfgang Kandek in an email today.

you should look through your installed patches and see if you actually got that security patch. one of my desk machines at my office updated Tuesday and didn't get that particular security patch so there was nothing to remove

My main computer was frozen installing that update all day...couldn't even reboot....had to unplug it...will have to figure it out tomorrow.

In my capacity as a technological invalid, I've found the apple system SO much easier to use.

I uninstalled it even tho I wasn't having any problems.

Two minutes after the reboot my auto update alert said there was one important update. Looked and sure enough it was the one.

Why would they still be sending it out as a push update if it's fraked....?

My laptop seems to be OK. I'm not gonna do anything. I'm just going to pretend everything is fine.

A friend of mine got the "Operating system is not found" message and her PC's been rendered useless as of last we talked. She was using a Vista mac-hine.

microsoft should advice its users to uninstall all microsoft products

40 years and zero good products. It have to be a record. And yes. I have used computers since 1977 and worked with it since 1990. I also am one of the few that have a medical exemption/note from my doctor that I can't have anything to do with Exchange.

3000? alienware? Or some crazy gimmick graphic card?
Apple have over 90% market share computers over 1000 dollars and if someone spends 2000+ on a laptop it amazes me that its not a Retina MBP. Retina screens is the biggest advancement in computing since 3D graphics.

    Translation:
Since Windows is o crappy everybody need crappy software, like crappy "antivirus". We at MSFT are amazed that people are so retarded that they don't understand that for example Unix that have a larger install base then Windows have had zero viruses in 60 years. People belive its normal with malware and virus.

And MSFT could solve this if they wanted, but their whole business plan is to make shit products so that people have to upgrade. Novell for example did a rock stable OS in Netware 3.12. 16 years later there are still many netware servers running. And that killed Novell. Why upgrade when it works.

MSFT could solve it just like genius Apple did. Use Unix/Opensource BSD as the core in the OS. Its server grade OS, real security. (I mean: do people really believe that any mission critical computer uses windows in any company?). With the 100% secure/virus free base, just put the Windows Gui over it. That would make windows work.

MSFT have thru history never managed to create/innovate anything. DOS was bought and was the foundation for its OS unit NT. NT was bought from DEC.

It amazes me how much after MSFT always are...

    Real computers: Real 64bit in 1995 with 100% 64bit OS in 1997.
Windows: 64bit extensions that is slower than 32bit. Almost 15 years later than the competition.
    ---

All windows fanbois: they have never used anything else. (and have no clue to use anything else)
All people who uses Unix/Linux/Mac: they have all used Windows. (and know how to use windows)
But the Windows fans are the most fanatic fans I have seen beside Android. And all based on cluelessness and education.

I mean: When Wiggy is more computer literate then many here: thats a clue.
