A Las Vegas man is giving a whole new meaning to mug “shot.” Alexander Gonzales, 40, was shot in the face and arm on Friday while crawling through a home’s dog door, according to his arrest record. The alleged burglar’s loud struggle with the small door alerted the residents at the home, who noticed he had a large knife in his pocket. The homeowner found Gonzales in the kitchen and shot him twice, and told cops he felt threatened when the intruder moved toward him. When officers arrived, Gonzales was bleeding from his face and arm, and brought to the University Medical Center for treatment. There, he told police he had a knife because he was being chased. When officers brought him in for a mug shot, fresh off his wound, police took the photo of his bloodied face. While at the detention center, police also found a container of methamphetamine on Gonzales, according to his arrest record. Gonzales is charged with burglary while in possession of a deadly weapon, attempted home invasion and drug trafficking. He is being held on a $40,000 bail and scheduled for a court appearance on March 1.
