MLB power rankings: Red-hot Red Sox claim No. 1 spot

►Justin Verlander has 77 strikeouts, 10 walks as an Astro.

    3. Los Angeles Angels (+5)

    ►#SmallSampleSize, but: Shohei Ohtani has a 195 ERA-plus, and a 233 OPS-plus.

    4. Arizona Diamondbacks (-1)

►Have won all five series, facing Rockies, Dodgers, Giants and Cardinals.

Two weeks doesn't change anything, unless there are serious injuries. Yankees, Indians, Astros, Expos, Cubs, and Dodgers will win the divisions.

You're basing this on what? If Porcello pitches more like he did in '16 than he did last year, and Price has fully recovered from his injury, and Sale continues being Sale, then the last two weeks have put the Sox in a much better position than the Yankees even if Tanaka and Grey improve back to their mean.

It's a long season, but past is not a guarantee of future performance.

I like that they are breaking out with a big lead. It may be enough to help down the line if they suck a dick at the end of the season. It will probably come down to the last week and these early wins will be integral to winning the division. Of course the playoffs are a whole other issue. Either way it's going to be a fun year.
