    http://www.10news.com/news/sources-...-diego-county-has-a-suspicious-ignition-point

Team 10 sources say all but one of the fires that have been burning across San Diego County have a suspicious ignition point.

'Fire bugs' is the term being used inside the fire agencies. Sources say the fires started in a way that were not normal -- there were no sparks from a lawnmower or car engine, no thrown cigarettes and no cars involved.

One source, a long-time arson investigator who is now retired, told us that CAL FIRE has a crack investigative team that will be looking closely at physical evidence and talking to witnesses to try to determine exactly how these fires started. The San Diego Fire Department also has an investigative team that will be looking into this.

Locals will be asked if they saw anything suspicious or noticed strange activity in their area. The Carlsbad Police Department has already established a Tip Hotline for the Poinsettia Fire. Anyone with information can call (760) 602-7599 or send investigators an email.

Fire crews have been battling nine fires across the county. No one has been injured but homes have been lost. Gov. Jerry Brown declared a state of emergency on Wednesday, clearing the way for more resources to help local firefighters.

    Stay safe down there!

Just watching coverage of the Cocos fire on KCAL9 and a really expensive, big home was in danger of going up in flames.

Glad to hear that! The 2007 fires looked like the end of the world. One of my brothers & his fam had to evacuate twice.

P.S. All for the death penalty for fucking arsonists who ruin people lives for "fun".

I wonder if the arson team has considered just how far a pathological attention-whore would go for such a photo op?

Where I grew up, there were some big houses on a ridge at the base of the mountain range north of the city. One house that stood directly above a major north/south highway through the valley, always lit up a huge star that was actually built onto their house. That star was famous because it could be seen more then 10-15 miles away every December. Some time around 2003 a major fire burned the entire mountain range, all those houses that stood there for years were wiped out. It was really a sad end of an era and the 60 year old Christmas tradition when that star was lost.

I was! At the moment everything was starting in southcentral, I was at one of my customers in the bad side of Long Beach. I left and headed up the 710 freeway on the way back to my office, right when I was passing Florance, I was hearing the live reports of the riot just starting about 5 miles to the west at Normandy. And in Long Beach where I was just at, that just fell apart too. When I got back to my office, I turned on the TV and the R. Denny beating happened just minutes after that.
