I say stop supporting stupid holidays. It's ridiculous and people get very emotionally wrapped up in them. How many gifts a year does someone need? How many days a year does someone need to celebrate?
Acknowledge it by saying "Happy Mother's Day, I love you." - that's all you need to do and the only reason the holiday exists (to acknowledge mom for the hard work she does throughout the year).
Its all about mom, its her day give her what she wants. God bless all you Moms out there.
My wife and I have been together for 12 years. We stopped getting things for each other after about 5 years together. Just felt like doing something nice for her this year.
Give your mom the best oral she's ever had.
Take her to a really nice restaurant, Her choice.
I bought my mum a few Heidi Daus bracelets. She loves that tacky shit.
My ninth anniversary is Saturday and I bought my husband a topsy Turku hanging tomato plant. I'm 10 years behind the latest trends.
I was thinking about giving this to all the hot Mothers I know...
I dunno....I lost my dad recently and my mom is really the only family I have, I love giving her something on Mother's Day to let her know I'm glad I still have her...
Maybe a picture of the two of you from your childhood or something sentimental ( if she is into that type of thing)
A nice hug and a sincere "I love you". It doesn't have to be something materialistic, just meaningful.
I'd like that roast @zhukov made last week.
What ever you do dont get her sherry berries there a rip off for the price. Go to you local chocolate shop and get them.
Hallmark doesn't make a "Thanks for being an abusive, drunken, neglectful mother" Mother's Day card so I guess I'll just bring a plant.
Do something together that she really enjoys. My Mom loves to gamble so we're taking her to an Indian Casino. I work Sundays so we're going today. Might rain but we don't care.
I'm making my mom dinner. We are going to sit around the fire pit and enjoy some adult beverages. When I have a nice bed of coals, on goes the grate, and some nice New York Strip steaks. Maple wood smoke does magical things to steak.
I always go with a hanging basket.
She's got a green thumb and can keep them alive and looking nice all summer.
The ones I get for my wife don't do quite as well.
