After it was revealed that Mozilla Firefox’s CEO held anti-gay marriage views by contributing to Proposition 8.

In a blog post, The Mozilla Foundation confirmed that Brendan Eich, the founder of the open-source web browser, had resigned from his position as CEO and from the board of the company, effective immediately

That is scary. Lets be real, he was fired. Fired for having an opinion. And I don't agree with his opinion but wow.

Now we know why FlaFla can't seem to manage a single solitary day without some Goddamn problem with Firefox.

McCarthyistic fascism, pure and simple. He never should have resigned. Apparently, if you're pro-traditional marriage, you're not entitled to work in this country.

You're entitled to be anything you want, but if you say things publicly that will jeopardize company profits, you should be fired. It's a capitalism issue, not a free speech issue. If you worked for a company who marketed to Christians, and you went around saying you love gay sex, you should be fired too

Bullshit. The faggy fascists wanted him gone because he offended their left-wing sensibilities, not because he "endangered profits." Gays had always been treated very well under his stewardship. It's a dark day for freedom.

make light of it if you wish, but you're not free if you can lose your job for voting like millions of other did. name a liberal who lost his job for voting against Prop 8 or donated $ to defeat it.

My guess they knew his views for years, and didn't care. They only cared how well he ran the company. But now that the views are public, it's a problem. Why don't you start a company, and advise all employees to say controversial public stuff or insult customers? Have you ever told your boss he's not as smart as he thinks and that his wife is a fat pig? You don't because you care more about money. It's not "left wing" to want to make as much money as possible.

How come you don't call the CEO of chic fila a liberal?
He either realizes he was wrong about the gays, or realizes it's smart business not to needlessly have groups of people boycotting his product.

Not really. Okcupid initiated a silly little boycott, but that's about it. Had Eich been anti-prop 8, drawing flak from conservatives, Mozilla would have stood firm.

Ridiculous. You're bound to insult somebody if you donate to this or that candidate or cause. It has nothing to do with running a non-partisan company.

So who out there in the tech world has lost their job because they "insulted" conservative voters by voting against Prop 8? After all, conservatives use browsers and high tech too. Answer: no one.

The only difference being is that McCarthyism was government driven. This is a company firing someone who dipped below the asset/liability line to his company. The Ghey's dont forget shit like this... Firefox shares were already sliding down, you get the Rainbow Connection up in your ass (hee hee) and your fucked.

And fuck "Traditional Marriage" thats a dog whistle for bigotry against the Gheys.

He never fired anyone who disagreed with him. I'm on record as saying that it was silly of him to mix his personal politics with company business.
