You should move beyond cab driving. Wait, never mind, you're old as fuck and about to die anyway.

why? rock was never supposed to be good music (T. Petty) and it has succeeded thus it is perfect.

every so often i hear something in new pop that part of me recognizes as "music" so its still out there but its not "erupting" yet. i think it will take some more time before consistently good rock is being produced again. maybe once kids start suffering in life without immediately blaming others, and without immediately being pacified. i think most art comes from pain, and its tough to suffer when you can blame others and feel self-righteous.

there are things you can do to digital to make it more acceptable. i prefer the non-digital, but you cant really suppress a technology once its out in the wild. its like the preference in movies for explosions and cgi over quality stories and acting (DarkFriday disagrees with me): there is room for both, but people have to start demanding better quality movies.

Nah, the thieving of movies and music has doomed that.
