Around 9 this morning I log into Dawgshed & read the usual posts by everyone here on The Stern Forum.

Then I went to the Gil & Frank podcasts that I’d been saving for my wife. Which she never finds time to listen to with me.

She’s down in the city for Mother’s Day.
My mom died about 10 years ago.
I decided, fuck it- I ain’t got no mom so I ain’t celebrating no more Mother’s Days.
Especially in honor of my Mother-In-Law.
    Who I love.

Plus –dealing with the train from up here filled with giggling college girls?
    Count me out.

So I’m eating some kind of health food store cereal my wife bought me and drinking morning coffee.
I click on my podcasts folder on my iPad.
    Gilbert Gottfried’s Amazing Colossal Podcast.

First one I come to that I haven’t heard after waiting for months is the one with Carol Leifer.

    I love this woman.
I absolutely have adored her most of my life as an adult. And a white man.
    It’s an awesome interview.
Stories about SNL, what a shit hole Dick Ebersole was. .. etc.

Then I sat down in the den with the obscenely large HD screen & went to Netflix & couldn’t find shit to watch.

Wound up watching an old HBO special on VHS I recorded back in 1986 with Andy Kaufman -Catch A Rising Star 10th Anniversary Special.
A 90 minute deal with Belzer, Robin Williams, and Gabe fucking Kaplan and finally Andy comes on.

Off stage, in with the audience is Bob Zmuda.
He’s a heckler. He’s messing with Andy, giving him grief.
    It captures my imagination.

So I went back to my iPad and watched another episode of Gilbert Gottfried’s Amazing Colossal Podcast.
This one was with Bob Zmuda.

And it’s going fine until about 1 hour 10 minutes into the show he does a fake “call-in” as Tony Clifton. Plugs his new book on Andy & declares that Andy faked his own death.
But Gil & Frank are wonderful and accommodating. The interview is filled with wonderful anecdotes.

    I had a wonderful time.

After that I watch a Tommy Lee Jones/Hillary Swank masterpiece on Netflix called The Homesman.
    Awesome movie.
It’ll make you weep like an old woman at a graveside. Plus it’s action packed with fist fights & pistol drawing stuff.

After that I thought… well. Shit.
So I had downloaded an old movie from a “torrents site” called “The Aristocrats”.
If you’ve never heard of it before shame on you.
Standout appearances by George Carlin, Taylor Negron, Alan Havey, and scores of others.
    Sarah Silverman...
But Gilbert Gottfried nails it dead to the wall like Jesus.
God I just finished watching it- this is the 2nd time I’ve seen this film and he’s so awesome.

So that’s how I spent Mother’s Day 2015 –with Gilbert Gottfried.
I hope your Mother’s Day went as well.

Sweet. I'm gonna check out that Tommy Lee Jones flick. Gilbert destroys.

Gilbert's podcast is one of the highlights of my week. In fact, they're doing a live-stream of the podcast tomorrow morning!

I just listened to Gilbert interview the 2 Cat Women - Julie Newmar and Lee Meriweather. Just so entertaining. The stories he gets his guests to talk about are great.

I was really looking forward to listening to the Catwoman podcasts. They kind of disappointed me. Newmar and Meriweather had great stories, but unfortunately they were awful storytellers. Gilbert and Frank saved the shows. Whenever Gilbert tells the Caesar Romero throwing orange peels at guys butts, ya just gotta laugh.

3 things I got from the original post:

    * you are the only person I know of who still has a VCR
    * where can I find this "train full of giggling college girls" you speak of?
***Gilbert is, and always has been, funny

Did you ever see Cesar Romero going into his dressing room with a box of oranges?

Well then did you ever see him leaving his dressing room with his hands covered in citric acid?

Can I tell you my favorite Paul Lynde story ?

Well Paul Lynde was doing a comedy show one time at an old place that was kind of like a converted barn or something. Anyways, he walks in and the place has a real

musky odour to it. Paul Lynde looks around and kind of sniffs at the air. Then he turns to the owner of the place and says "This place smells like cunt............................

    I think"

They need to do longer shows where Frank & Gilbert just shoot the shit on aspects/niches of old Hollywood.

I love you Senator Rick, but if we all made long posts about the days that we sat around the house doing nothing of import, this forum would just be a sort of hellish mirror of everything I'm trying to escape when I come here. Brevity is the soul of wit. Don't waste my time.
