Winging it and inventing things is my favorite way to cook. Just me and PP tonight, so I felt like experimenting in the kitchen.

    2 cups pre-boiled penne
1 lb of jumbo pre-cooked shrimp, thawed in warm garlic butter with crushed red chili peppers.
Drained the shrimp and set the garlic butter to the side, then took the tails off all the shrimp.
Made a basic roux from the garlic butter, and added 1 cup of old cheddar, half cup parmeson.
Chopped 1 onion, 4 scallions, and leftover bacon from the fridge.
Mixed it altogether in a casserole dish, covered the top with more cheese and a topping of crushed ritz crackers/breadcrumbs, little pepper and parsley.
Dabbed butter over the top of the bread coating.
It's now in the oven baking for....ahhhhh, I'm thinking half hour, 40 minutes.

Cross your fingers for me people!

that actually sounds really good. i'm a little iffy about thawing shrimp in garlic butter an then using that same garlic butter in the disk, but i guess it'll bring a really solid shrimp-y flavor to the entire disk. take pix! hot shrimp mac an cheese! :cheer:

I'd feed him on the back porch with the dog, for safety's sake.

I usually toss leftovers onto the backyard for her to scavenge for. It would amuse me to see the 2 of them compete.
