Rifftrax is the MST guys doing more current movies. I was watching Batman & Robin and when they are reprogramming the satellites to thaw Gotham one of them says...

"Hey that satellite was beaming Howard Sterns show directly to all three of his listeners"

They are hit and miss. Starship Troopers is one of the best I've seen so far.

    MST3K is an underappreciated gem.
    Rifftrax is great.

    Mike vs Joel. Mike every-goddamn-day.

"And if your hands were metal, that would mean something..." (movie, of course)

"House on Haunted Hill" was hilarious.

You must've started watching when Mike was the host. It took me years to warm up to him after Joel left. I appreciate him now and like him a lot, but Joel will always be MST3K to me.

Back in 2009 I saw Cinematic Titanic -- the original MST3K cast riffing on movies live -- for my first time. (I saw them twice more in the next year.) After the show they sign your stuff and pose for pictures with you. I'd been a loyal fan of the show for almost 20 years, so it was totally surreal to see them in person, in a venue filled with fans who loved them as much as I did. Definitely one of my top five live show experiences.

About four times a year, they do Rifftrax live and project it in movie theaters across the country. It's fun to watch it with a large group -- although the movie makes a huge difference. The last one I saw was "Santa Claus Conquers the Martians," which was already done expertly by MST3K in the early '90s. Hearing new, sometimes topical jokes instead of the ones I'm used to from 20 years ago was a little weird.

Serious good times. That was like fall of 1990. Hot ass blonde girl I knew would come over my house and watch it. Comedy channel wasn't even a full time thing yet. I think they split time with the E channel. We'd watch MST3K and then bang till my back hurt. I'd take her for chicken parm at the pizza place down the street and take her home.

That's a great line! Let's see if Howchie tries to censor it somehow.

Looks like they did the Batman and Robin episode in 2008. But the comment's far more relevant now.

Holy shit, I think I just had a fanboy orgasm!!!!! If you really stop and think about it, our culture has been influenced in so many ways by that show, yet few people actually know much about it....
