Star wars : A New Hope.
Empire Strikes Back.
I wish I could have been there before we knew Darth Vader was Luke's father. I think I've always known that, so it would have been cool to see the reveal.
Debbie does Dallas
My Little Pony The Movie
I was just gonna say Cumfart Cocktails #3, but you beat me to the porno joke.
I was too young to see it during the original run, but my pop took me to see it during the 1979 re-release.
I wanted to see the new Star Wars in imax 3D, but chose The Revenant instead. Was not disappointed. Good movie.
Lawrence of Arabia
Jaws or Bladerunner. I was a little too young for both.
the last Rambo movie
I seen it on tv
it kicked ass
I'm in my mid 50's. I saw most of what people watch now first run in theater. I would have to go back to movies like Forbidden Planet, Goldfinger or Psycho
Birth of a Nation
Aliens, Raiders of the Lost Ark and Jaws.
I saw Alien first night, 7pm showing. pre internet, no spoilers. people absolutely lost their shit at the chestburster scene. walking out the people waiting for the next showing asked us how it was. we told them the movie was kind of boring.
I cut school to see the first showing of Star Wars (I refuse to call it A New Hope). This was before all the ballyhoo and the theatre was empty. I even saw Carrie Fisher getting publicity shots taken in front of the theatre. I had no idea who the fuck she was until I saw the shots appear in an issue of Starlog months later.
Films I'd like to have seen first run to witness audiences reactions are:
King Kong (1933)
or any early Marx Brother's Paramount film.
"Jaws" for me also. Too young at the time.. watched it years later and man, what a great movie.
I was referring to Cameron's Áliens ,not Ridley Scott's Alien.
