The only one I can think of who kind of comes close is Rod Stewart, but even his plunge into cringe-worthy shit legacy can't match Stern's

there are lots of celebs that have fallen into obscurity. i think what the OP means is has there ever been a celeb who has disappointed his fans and ruined his legacy as much as howard.

the only one who comes close is deniro....from the deer hunter and taxi driver to meet the fockers. what could be worse than that????

"his plunge into cringe-worthy shit legacy"

"Meet the Fockers" doesn't compare to AGT. Sorry

Did Rod disappoint you? When you talk about the fallen I think you need to think about someone who is living check to check. Your examples suck shit

Not a bad call on DeNiro. Even Bobby Duvall had to chuckle when asked what he thought of DeNiro's present day movies.

Anyhoo, you're right - comparisons to Wiggy shouldn't so much be about falling into obscurity, as selling out or changing your entire personality to suit someone else that's telling you what to do, or turning out to be a complete phony.

This isn't an easy one, I'm drawing a blank, because Wiggy really does take the cake here. I can't think of anyone even close.

Rod Stewart started out working with Jeff Beck. He then became a solo artist and released 5 great albums. His work with the Faces was also brilliant. He then moved to LA, hooked up with Britt Ekland and released "Tonight's the Night" and later "Do You Think I'm Sexy?" and "Hot Legs."

One's legacy can plummet and that doesn't have anything to do with living "check to check." In fact it is usually the opposite. I'm not saying you're Beth Stern stupid, but I'm not not saying it

Nicolas Cage did a fine job of trashing a very respectable career when the tax man pushed him into grabbing cash wherever possible.
