Anyone watching this? I have always enjoyed the story of Pablo Escobar. This series really fills in the gaps that the news never could.

He spent $2500 per month on rubber bands alone to bundle his money.

I did the same exact thing. Started watching some hillbilly comedy, Tucker and Dale vs Evil. It was just ok.

I prefer Vinnie Chase's performance in Medillin. Very underrated movie.

I still shudder thinking about Pablo :chair: but we are watching it. Friend of mine was a journalist during some of those years….he is alive to talk about it. :depressed:

The guy was a real fucking Robin Hood, he built hospitals, housing projects, parks etc....... with his profits, the people loved him. He was bringing in $60 million a day at one point.

"He was a real earner, Robin."

Americans made Mr Escobar a billionaire because they cant face life without some kind of mind altering narcotic. Americans are clearly against prohibition but Reagan and other politician thugs created a failed war against it that continues to this day. they will will never admit that it's a colossal failure and one of the biggest embarrassments in US history. Yet we continue to spend billions on the drug war. Meanwhile other Cartel leaders have stepped into Pablo's place and have become billionaires themselves because Americans still cant face life sober.

He was fulfilling market demand just like McDonald's does for shit hamburgers. If drugs were legal we could end so much violence on both sides of the border, all in addition to the billions in cash we'd save and the freeing up of cops to deal with real crime.

I think we can all imagine why the war still rages on.

that being said, Pablo made the biggest mistake by going into politics, that was his undoing. when he turned into a paranoid psychopath and started killing and bombing his own people all respect for him was lost. I truly believe that would have never happened if he would have stayed out of politics.

It's an old tactic to remain safe. The mafia has done the same thing. Drug dealers in the hood give people money too. Not on that large of a scale but a pair of Jordans is like gold in the hood.

Pablo's son said all he inherited from his dad was a watch. when he died it was estimated that he had 10-30 billion dollars. Where is that money? Some say the government of Columbia swiped it.

And if you're anything like me, you finally get the itch to watch it the day after it's been removed.
