Three channels times three days a week times twenty weeks of vacation equals potato?
Thread creation regret in 3...2...1...
I regret this thread
Don't be bitter. You'll feel better once gunk three schhhixty is released.
This week, I listened to the show from June 2006 when Stern announced that the lawsuit against him was settled and he obtained the right to play all of his old 23,000 hours of tape. That would have been the perfect time to create the 3rd channel that he previously promised.
I would barf listening to a channel of in-studio performances.
Or Howard's handpicked favorite songs.
I regret clicking
It should be right after the Porky's remake, Howard Stern The High School Years, Doomsday, cross country bus tour, annual Film Festival and all the great new talent and programming that is scheduled to appear on H101. So be patient.
remember we were all supposed to get excited about that Heidi whore masturbating....that shit sucked!
this should be a cautionary tale for anyone giving large amounts of money to someone up front.
The next time @SomerSky and @ARM get an ex-Stern employee on the podcast, they need to ask them two questions:
Do all of these Stern "meetings" really exist?
If so, what happens in all of them?
Wigward is the king of the big lie.
My favorite is the two companies need to merge to be competitive, the benefits to the listeners will be great.
We will not have a monopoly.
I am beyond amazed that Sirius paid him for his "catalog", whatever the fuck that consists of. If the third channel played the first hour of every old show and the news section, I would sign up in a heartbeat. Probably pay double.
There must be meetings. I wonder if Opie has them.
The catalog is the rights to play the tapes of the show once howard retires in 5 years
I think the problem was there from the outset: Howard excels at live performance, to the extent he has talent around him. Ergo, the years with Billy, Jackie and guests were killer. But he sucks ass at traditional fare: Sorry, but the E-show was the radio show with a camera; and his forays into Late Night Saturday comedy and Son of the Beach were juvenile and, from a production point of view, pretty cheesy and barely watchable.
Bottom line is he gets lazy where planning and design are required. He was never going to deliver three quality channels; just "Porky's" lite. And his "catalog" [hah!] will be worth .60 centavos, as he has done nothing but tarnish his brand with his take the money and run attitude.
I was hoping he would use the channels not for his own content, but to find great new talent and maybe give a home to some of the legends of the industry who were looking to move from terrestrial.
Wasn't the 3rd channel originally titled "The Who Gives a Shit Channel"?
