A video has been released which appears to show British aid volunteer Alan Henning being beheaded, The 47-year-old former taxi driver, originally from Greater Manchester, was captured last December in Syria while he was delivering aid. There have been repeated calls for him to be released but a video was posted on Youtube within the past hour purportedly showing Mr Henning being beheaded by a man in a black mask. The video shows Mr Henning kneeling down in front of a man with a knife. The footage begins with an English-language news report broadcast on the night Parliament voted to approve airstrikes against Islamic State. In the footage, Henning says: 'I am Alan Henning. Because of our parliament’s decision to attack the Islamic state I as a member of the British public will now pay the price for that decision." The video mirrors other beheading videos shot by the Islamic State group, which now holds territory along the border of Syria and Iraq.
