Four of the comedies are new, including "Go On," starring former "Friends" actor Perry as a fast-talking, sarcastic sportscaster who loses his wife in a car accident.

    - "The New Normal," about a gay couple that invites a surrogate mother into their home as they try to have a baby. Ellen Barkin is featured as the prospective mom's grandmother. :gayhand:

—"Animal Practice," a comedy about a veterinarian who learns his ex-lover is taking over his business.

—"Guys With Kids," a comedy executive produced by Jimmy Fallon. The show is what it sounds like: three guys in their 30s trying to hold onto their youth despite being new fathers. Jamie Lynn Sigler of "The Sopranos" and Tempestt Bledsoe of "The Cosby Show," are featured.

—"Revolution," a J.J. Abrams action series where the world is plunged back into a time when electricity doesn't work.

..Midseason shows include a comedy about a president and first lady played by Bill Pullman and Jenna Elfman, a comedy with Dane Cook as a foulmouthed DJ forced to share his microphone with a feminist and a drama about Hannibal Lecter.

    :shit:

To think that in the 90's NBC was the home to Cheers, Seinfeld, Frasier, Friends (not a huge fan but many were) and E.R.

and that was only on thursdays.

Not to mention they still had Conan on late night whom I long thought was far more entertaining than letterman and leno, and he could use his nbc material (triumph)

Now that channel truly went to shit

The Revolution will last one season. Every serialized drama on NBC gets cancelled. The Firm, Awake, The Event. I don't care if J.J. Abrams is involved. The Revolution will only be televised for one season. Remember when NBC use to produce high quality dramas with sustainability like L.A. Law and West Wing. Just do reality TV. There are enough idiots to support every show. As long as it has voting and prize money, people watch. The dumbest idea yet. The series based on Hannibal Lecter. There is only one Hannibal, Anthony Hopkins. No matter who they cast people won't accept another Hannibal. Because it's TV they can won't be able to make it as graphic. I like the Hannibal character but I know the show is going to fail. It will last a couple of weeks at best. Some of the other serialized shows that also have been cancelled on other networks are Alcatraz, Missing, The River, Terranova. Everyone is thinking they are going to make the next Lost. It isn't going to happen. No one has the patience anymore to follow shows week where you have to remember the story and people. You can watch a rerun of Law and Order having never seen the show before and know what's going on in 5 minutes.

Most of them sound awful, particularly "Guys with Kids" (and was thinking that BEFORE I saw the bone chilling picture; you just know the pitch was "It's 3 'Friends' and a Baby!"). However, I have a soft spot for Matthew Perry and hope he does well.

Could this line-up BE more depressing?

Awake was good for the first few eps. I like Parks and Rec, 30 Rock even though it's dwindling.

That Brian Williams Show..Still not sure wtf it's suppose to be. :dontknow:

nbc ordered up a full 20+ episodes of parks and rec for next year. winning.

was afraid they might only do the 13 episode season.

After seeing that sorry list, I am not surprised that they renewed Whitney.

Nobody mentioned Next Caller a new comedy coming to NBC. Wonder where they got this idea from.

What happens when a foulmouthed satellite radio DJ - played by the multi-platinum selling artist and outrageously charming Dane Cook - is forced to share the mic with a chipper NPR feminist? It's anyone's call in this sharp new comedy from producer Stephen Falk ("Weeds") and Emmy-winning director Marc Buckland ("Grimm," "My Name Is Earl").

I'm not watching any serialized show til it's done and on DVD -- I'm not wasting any time on a show that gets cancelled midstream or has no idea how to end :dontcare:

Huh? They're all comedies. Who really cares how or whether a sitcom ends?
