Goddamn. These guys might be the best artists of our generation. (Not best band, but art collective.)

Every video seems to go bigger and more complex than the last. The sheer amount of hours planning and executing these things are just ridiculous.

Too bad there's no place on TV to see stuff like this...

I refuse to watch their stuff personally. I really think when a band/artist decides that spectacle should supersede the quality and importance of the music, it's a sad state of affairs. I don't like Kiss or Gaga either. Besides I think the other Ok Go songs sound like they're just ripped off David Bowie songs if I remember correctly

    Over-produced, sung with a lisp.

videos are probably more popular today than in the 90's, it's just that the younger generation isn't waiting for them to show up on TV

everything has to be on demand nowadays, nobody is going to wait staring at the TV for something interesting to come on

and I didn't bother to watch the video by the way, just commenting on Howard's assumed irrelevance of vudeos

Their biggest hit "Here It Goes Again" (the video with the treadmills) is a direct rip of Billy Joel's "It's Still Rock and Roll to Me". Try singing Billy's lyrics over the OK Go tune...it's bizarre.

It would seem to me if their music was any good it would stand on its own they wouldn't have to resort to any of these gimmicks

Yeah, not a fan either. At all. But I could easily imagine that song in commercials or in some romcom trailer. To each his own.
