I've been using the iphone since day 1, currently I have the 4s and it's on its last leg and I'm considering going with something other than apple. Maybe Scott Depace was making sense.

So what's the best phone out there? I'm on it a ton for work, also love podcasts, twitter, and reading here.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

LOL you have obviously never used a Note 3. 5s is not 30% faster or more powerful than a Note 3. If you love battery life try a Note 3. I went from the Samsung S3 and the Note 3 battery life is insane. I use it for work all day email/text/calls and can consistently get 2 days out of it.

If you have T-Mobile you can try the note 3 out for 30 days and if you don't like it take it back for a 5s or w/e you want. The phone is big though so that might be an issue for some.

5s on the left Note 3 on the right.

...an s3 or an s4. if youre with a no contract carrier get an extended life battery. batteries in main stream cell companies seem to be much better that no contract phones. that's the only difference otherwise you cant be the performance when compared to a fashion statement.

LOL you should try reading things not written 6 months before the devices were released for review.DT has a 6-9 month lead time for their articles.

if you really depend upon your devices you don't depend upon advertisements and old magazine articles for your info.

battery life is a BS concern: i actually have a job where i depend upon my devices to do work and not to play games or watch cheap porn; I carry an 18amp (not mAh) lithium power supply with me. I can recharge my phone, ipad, every device in your bag, and run my Macbook for days between charges, and if necessary my battery can power your car..

I can't see anyone who seriously depends upon their mobile connection even considering T-Mobile: they charge nothing because they provide nothing.. Every time i have tried to use T-Mobile as a carrier I get the same connectivity with my blackberry's battery removed as I do with the battery installed..

i think all the carriers like to advertise how little their phones weigh so being able to claim 3grams less weight is a plus even if it means the stock battery only lasts 20 min.

I hear a lot of mixed reviews from T-mobile. Some people hate them some people love them. I am one that loves them. I know they have shitty coverage in some places. However my house, my work and everywhere I have been so far I have good coverage. I know Verizon has better coverage however, I can't beat the price I pay for tmobile. I pay $100 for 2 phones with unlimited data, talk, text and $20 per line for the phone payment for 24 months. I then get a 20% discount because my work participates in some program with T-mobile. This means I pay around $120 including tax for service. I looked at switching to Verizon but I don't want to pay the $175 or so per month for the same plans.

And I don't know man I have never had an iphone so I can't say anything bad about them. I really almost got one but instead I got the note 3. I love the phone, battery, beautiful display ect.. I am still under my 30 days and have thought several times about getting the iphone instead. I wish I had friends that had a 5s so I could check it out a bit more. I use gmail google drive ect.. so I like the way it integrates. Does an iphone have the option to sync everything with a google account like drive, gmail, calendars, ect.. ?? Also I don't have a MAC at home so I don't need it for that syncing as I use Windows.

One of the mgrs where i work took out his droid and the screen was smashed like a bullet bounced off it. I asked what happened. He replied "My wife was upset about something." I ordered an Otterbox for his new phone.

+1. I friggin LOVE mine. We bought 4 of them for a few family members and they are just plain kickass. I had iphones since the iPhone 3g and thought I'd be lost without it. I seriously wish I had moved sooner.

Like I said before, I still use the Note 1 that I got when they first hit the market in Europe, long before they were ever sold in the U.S. After the last update, it runs like the Note 2 and 3, even the battery life doubled. What ever bugs that were there in the past, they are all ironed out now!

This. We're on Galaxy S3's. Me & the little lady used to swear by iPhone but ever since the first Samsung Galaxy S1, haven't been able to look back, the screens are just too damn tiny when you hold an iPhone in your hand now, its like a baby phone (and to say nothing of Apple screwing the pooch with iOS7 and the easter/candyland color job they did on the UI that seems to be despised by many iPhone users). You dont realize how useful that extra screen real estate is until you have it.

If I were buying new I would get the Nexus 5 in a few weeks. Beast. Having had a very good experience with the Nexus 7 tablet I'm now a believer in the Nexus devices where you get the pure stock experience and get the updates immediately.
