The March 2016 issue of Popular Mechanics has a brand-new column in it: Technology with Baba Booey.

His debut entry is about voice recognition software. Surprise, surprise: the guy who needs all his books read to him prefers to dictate his texts rather than type them out. It features an especially toothy photo of MaMa Monkey screeching at an Amazon Echo as though it was the Monolith in 2001.

He says he prefers to dictate his texts in his car, rather than at the office. And he informs us that Amazon Echo's Alexa has a sense of humor. He recalls a time -- presumably after getting told by Marci to leave the office and go to his car if he insists on dictating his texts -- when he said to his Amazon Echo, "Alexa, you're such a bitch." Alexa said, "That's not very nice," so Gary apologized to his machine.

I thinks it's safe to assume that Alexa now gets a bigger piece of chicken at dinner than the submissive beta male Gary does.

I want to see a remake of The Matrix starring Gary Dell'Abate. Instead of Neo, the main character's name could be Sonos.

Gary is to Technology, as Gary is to Nolan Ryan.

Most of the personalities from the show have had to branch out into other areas to try and stay relevant since no one listens to the show anymore.

Gary's a technology expert just like Howard is KOAM, Robin is qualified to give advice on health and diet issues, and Hein knows which fast food is the best.

Canceled that sub years ago. Because they suck. Obviously they are circling the drain if booey is an "expert" there.

Hope he gets to do an article that make watching a movie on your iPod or phone a cinematic experience with magnifying glasses

I still subscribe, and am finding it more and more useful now that I own a house that's over 100 years old. But they are going through a major identity crisis, that's for sure. It's had at least three redesigns in the past two years, and its "voice" and attitude are all over the place.

"Pop culture and music expert" Gary hasn't been a big hit so his agents are trying to revive the Gadget Gary tech expert persona. Based on this article, it looks like Gary doesn't think the Echo is a bit of a stumble for Amazon.

Good to see that he was able to get in a comment on how he puts a grand into Jackson's account so he can buy some new kicks.

I don't think an over-sized toothbrush really qualifies as "technology."
