Here's a vid of just an average day in NYC a quarter century ago:
How anyone can live in that cesspool then or now is beyond me
Looks like a cesspool to me. I'll stay safe in the suburbs, thank you.
Edit: double use of "cesspool."
I hated those squeegee assholes.
(Boy, does this make me feel old...sigh)
I hear Deblasio is doing all he can to return it to that.
The most depressing part: 1990 was 25 years ago.
Love it!! Love littering and no rules like now. That was America not like now.
I'll take my "boring" hood over that any day.
Couldn't tell the men from the women... T-shirts, jeans with belts, white tennis shoes, mullets, and big ol' shades. At the time we thought we looked cool.
I love the mom jeans on the women and the men.
Dinkins was mayor. Good times for criminals and bums.
Please tell me that polar bear wasn't dead...
They ought to find one from 1975. EEK!
He's high on wine.
It looked okay to me but I've lived here all my life.
I didn't mind the squeegee guy since the were doing something for the $1 and my windshield did need cleaning. The guys I hated were the ones that would just walk up to your car while you were waiting at a light and beg.
The one good thing, No Fucken Cell Phones!
Now, there would be hundreds of people walking while checking their smartphone.
Except for the guys with the snot rags who just smeared their boogers on your windshield.
