My brother used to build the wing boxes for those
Exactly the reason why you go to full-throttle after the catch.
Phew! close call
The Indiana Jones Theme played in my head when the plane re-emerged!
Whoa that must have scary as hell! Was anyone on the carrier injured by the snapping cable?
That pilot absolutely perfect on the approach and recovery......
I kept waiting for the water to come up over the edge of
angle deck.........Good show!!!!!!
The pilot is what you call a trained professional, don't try this at home kids.
Cable snap. I got this.
Arresting cables and winch cables are no joke they have cut people in half
Plane was coming in too fast
The whole idea of landing on an aircraft carrier is fucked up.
That's just a myth. Many have been killed it's true, but there's never been a substantiated report of a Sailor being "cut in half" by an arresting cable.
My FIL if you looked at him now you would not in a million years guess he flew fighter jets and did this stuff in his youth. Seen pics of him on carriers ripped to shreds 6 pack and all.
Pretty cool stuff he got to do. Never went into combat, but they flew around all the time practicing just in case ( on and off these carriers)
this reminds me of when howard cut soupy sales piano wires
I refuse to watch black and white.
2016 and no color video camera?
No he wasn't.....And as soon as the wheels touch the deck they slam all throttles forward just in case the miss the cable,
Or it breaks......
And in standard def.
This is the most technologically advanced Navy in the world?
