Do you read the paper? The actual ink-on-paper newspaper? If not, when's the last time you touched one? I'll pick one up when I'm out of newsprint to light my charcoal chimney for grilling. That's about it. Newspaper invariably reprint or parrot propaganda. They're dirty, literally dirty, with the rubber-based ink rubbing off on everything.
Bought my first one since my mom died, today. W/ smartphone to surf the net while on the toilet, I just don't read em anymore. Prior to the last 2-3 yrs, I bought the NYDailyNews every day for about 18yrs.
Only people over 70 read actual newspapers Kids under 21 don't even know what they are. Real papers/magazines will be gone in 25 years. I haven read a real paper/book/magazine since I got my first Ipad.
used to be so important but the internet lead to massive consolidation and now they basically just print syndicated shit unless its very big paper. friend of mine worked for a paper that had been in business for 130 years . he said they have 2 staff writers and the rest of the stuff comes in from texas over the wire. it just keeps getting bought out by bigger and bigger consolidators put a fork in it, print is done
OMG, I love when Beth trys to read the newspaper and a cat sits down on it so she cant read it. Hoo hoo thats so hilarious.
Sad but true. In my childhood town of around 70,000 most every kid could expect to be pictured in the paper. All the local news was there. When I came home from college I would read it. Now? It's a section in the Chicago paper. Fucking sucks. Everything is homogenized.
