of their 100 Greatest Players of All-Time list. Who should be #1? Why?

Whenever they do shit like this, its always Otto Graham or Sammy Baugh, someone that no one still living ever saw play but they want to look educated on the subject

Personally...fuck. I dunno. I'd say you could make a strong case for Montana or Jim Brown.

Baugh and Graham were on the #11-20 show, so they are out. Personally, I'm figuring on Jim Brown or Jerry Rice. Both great players, but I think Rice might get the nod with him just recently going into the HOF.

Yeah. I'm no 49ers fan, but Rice is obviously the greatest WR of all time and I'd vote for Montana as best QB. Has Unitas been named yet? I'd look it up but I'm lazy.

is this the same list that prime time deion was bitching about, because he was ranked 30-something?

Yep. The first jersey I ever owned was a Deion Cowboys jersey back in the day, but I think he got put where he belongs. I also think the "greatness" factor should also involve them as a person too, and Prime Time is a raging douchebag, best CB of all time or not. Much as I applaud the NFL network for including OJ Simpson based on his incredible playing, I guarantee you that if it weren't for all his later fuckheadery, he would have been ranked much higher.

Yea, thats the list. It appears the only anomaly in the top 10 is going to be Peyton Manning being somewhere in it. First time I remember seeing him in the top ten on one of these list.

I wouldn't argue with that, and I hate the cocksucker. I believe if he'd won this last Super Bowl he'd start to be called the greatest QB of all time, or at least be in the conversation.

anyone have George Blanda as their #1?

his recent death will certainly have a positive influcence on his rank.

I figured Emmitt would be top 20 for sure. I can see him being ranked behind Brown and Payton, but he should have been right there with Sanders and definitely in front of Sayers.

Yea, if the Colts won, he definitely would be in the same conversations with Montana and Unitas as best ever.

Blanda was still playing when he was like 48 or 49. Made Favre look like a youngin'.

No disrespect towards Emmitt but, I probably could have had a few thousand yards with that O line.

Now can you imagine Barry Sanders on a good team like that?

Just looked up the list, Joe Namath @ 100?? :rolleye:

He shouldn't be on the list. If you look at his stats you'll realize he is the most overrated sports figure in history.

Tom Brady should be top 10, not 21 and behind favre...

Good to see they saved Lawrence Taylor for the top ten.

Oh son of a bitch I KNEW someone was gonna say that. I HATE that argument.

There are a ton of great O Lines in NFL history. There's only 1 Emmitt.

    Now you've pissed me off.

If they hadn't even mentioned Namath, there'd be an outcry, just because of what a big name he is and what a gigantic upset that is

The #100 spot is a pity ranking

And yes, Brady is better than Favre
