Given the production value of the following Kiefer Sutherland narrated piece, I wouldn't be surprised if this video alone cost about as much as an entire stadium did back in Bart Starr's day. Most Angelenos I talk to remain ambivalent, at best, about the idea of the NFL making a return to the city. But as far as I know we've continued to hold the line against public funding for the stadium.

LA fans are frigging terrible, so first of all, that picture with the jam packed stadium is a bunch of fuckery.
    It'll look more like this:

"Roger Goodell has been phoning me for a while, Robin. He wants me to own a team in Los Angeles. I told him no. Then he offered to make me a stadium. You know, build a stadium in my honor. I wouldn't even have to do anything. He just wants my name attached. The Howardome or something. I don't know. It'd be the biggest thing ever and would get people interested in football again. I hate to say no. But I've got too much in the works already."

that colin cowherd would go on how people in places like LA, Miami, San Diego don't care about sports because they live in a
place with great weather, lots of hot broads and stuff

the lunatic fans in Boston, Philly and the like got nothing else to do because the weather sucks and the broads are gross

that's what he would he say

I haven't been paying attention... What seems more likely at this point, the Rams moving back, or the Steelers/Chargers thing?

I used to go to Raiders and Rams games when I lived out there. Hopefully, this happens as there is no reason for LA not to have at least one time in the NFL. However, I am hoping my Raiders stay in Oakland. LA can have the Jags, Chargers, Vikings, etc. just leave the Raiders in the Bay.

San Diego and St. Louis are willing to spend 100s of millions of dollars to keep their teams.
Oakland has said they are not.

The Oakland A's are willing to build a new baseball stadium without city money once the Raiders leave.
    Oakland can afford that.

The Raiders will end up playing wherever a new stadium is built, and the two leading projects are both in LA.

What I have heard is that they expect 2 teams to move to LA. Which is crazy to me.

I guess they think the whole issue is the stadium and the marketing. Giving the fan a product they will really enjoy. They did a nice job downtown with Staples and everything around it. The guy with the Rams wants to do something similar in Inglewood. Big multi-development on the land where the Forum is. Stadium, mall, music venue, park. I guess it would work if he builds something really good. People love to spend their money.

I don't know what the plan is for the Carson location, but I think it is smaller. The Inglewood proposal sounds more likely to be successful, as it will have a lot of other attractions around it to lure people in.

As I understand it, the Raiders once moved to Los Angeles, and they could've sold 100,000 season tickets, but they weren't prepared to take the money. When the box office opened months later, the enthusiasm was gone, and they sold less than 1/2 the seats in the stadium. Not a smart way to do business.

here in San Diego, there are still a lot of fans trying to keep the team here by organizing rallies and such. Its almost laughable as if a few rallies will make the team owners change their mind. the city is caving in and taking it in the ass while the team is likely leaving anyways. There will not be many charger fans in LA,and very few will go up there for the games. ponderous

I thought that Ray Donovan and the Finney family have this covered already?

The Jax Jaguars are the PRIME franchise to deep six in favor of LA. They have been the least popular national team something like 5 years running.

They even FEEL like a USFL team still.

There are rumors about moving the Jaguars to London.

    Just for comparison.

    Jaguars owner: Shahid Khan
    net worth $4.5 Billion
    [IMG]

    Raiders owner: Mark Davis
    net worth: $500 million (seriously?)

They're headed to London within 5. The testing of multiple games over there this season is the start

500 million seems low. Although Al Davis was the only owner to have the team as his major source of income before he died.
