I got tivo this year and plan to record all the games. Too many commercials and standing around reviewing calls. I also plan to watch more EPL. No commercials except halftime.

I wish fans would stop bitching and just stop watching. I'm not a sports fan, so it doesn't really matter to me, but I hate seeing fans continue to get bled dry as these leagues get every penny they can out of every singe aspect of the game that they can think of.

Uniform advertising will be next and it won't stop there.

They're going to look like NASCAR uniforms with the ads all over them.

It's only for local broadcasts of the 9ers preseason games.

You won't see it. I think it's only S.F. games on their local channel.
They superimpose the ad on the 0-20 yard line. It looks terrible.
Hopefully it won't be successful so other teams won't do it.

goodell is the worst commissioner ever.

his idea of improving the game is having more penalties, fewer hits, more commercials, more suspensions, and now on-field advertising.

oh, and never, ever, any "taunting"

    I'm no genius so I guess that's why I don't understand this

You may not know it, but the National Football League is a nonprofit organization. It may seem absurd that a collection of teams that generated at least $9 billion in revenue last season would be given tax-exempt status, but the NFL is technically classified as a 501(c)6 organization. Here's how the IRS describes 501(c)6 tax-exempt status:

Section 501(c)(6) of the Internal Revenue Code provides for the exemption of business leagues, chambers of commerce, real estate boards, boards of trade and professional football leagues, which are not organized for profit and no part of the net earnings of which inures to the benefit of any private shareholder or individual.

Much like soccer uniforms that had company advertisements on the front instead of the name of the team. The SEATTLE XBOX! The Portland ALASKAN AIRLINES!

Exactly. They want to see if the fans piss and moan about it. If we don't, they will likely start doing it to all the games.

That's fine, give the $ to the players so they'll agree to play 18 games. I'm more convinced than ever that the NFL season is way too short.

The NFL NETWORK & RADIO don't know what to do with themselves from February to August but jerk each other off to the NFL Draft which plays out rarely as they call it.

Could be, but nearly all preseason broadcasts are local deals. The existing contracts for regular season games won't allow it.

I watched the Eagles play chicago last night and they had the red zone ads as well. Supposed to only be local, but it's coming. Get used to it.

What concerns me is even more penalties that handcuffs defenses have come in. It was fucking ridiculous. Can't even breathe on a receiver without a fucking flag. Why bother having D out here?
