No Mike Brown chat in here. No getting a room in here, either
So my Father passed about 3 weeks ago. Didn't really know him so much growing up, and I'm over 40 so it wasn't really a shock. I didn't cry or anything.
It got me wondering about him so I joined Ancestry.com and have found some pretty interesting things. I come from white trash. truly. His parents were extremely poor. Great great great something grandparents came to the US from Ireland, but not through Ellis Island. No one famous or very interesting.
So I'm plain. But I did do that blood test thing so you can find your % of your heritage. Looking forward to those results
Same here, Potato famine Irish. The story is that my great great great Grandfather lost the farm in a card game and emigrated to the US.
You know you are wasting a perfectly good beverage, right?
Sorry to hear about your loss, Nikki. I always wanted to do the ancestry stuff, but never got around to it.
Half wop, half Irish mick here. Wop side is Sicilian or what other Italian's might call, "black" lol
Get out! I don't think it was potato famine in my case. 3 of my Dad's siblings are dead. One drowned at a fairly young age. Sad. Not a lot of family left to ask questions.
Well I get the impression that on that side of the family I'm Black Irish. I don't drink much, but my brothers? oi
lol....dude, you're one of my favorites here.
Your Av is making me laugh. Gleetings
Thank you. The weird thing is my parents never divorced. Maybe that Catholic thing? She won't really say. But they lived apart for as long as I can remember.
I like a tasty cold one now and then, but not a huge drinker myself. Black Irish are attractive.
My brother did the ancestry thing and traced us back the the 15th century. No royal blood here.
Was kinda volatile in my house too growing up (Italian and Irish..what do you expect?!) but they were troopers and stayed together. Plus I didn't pick up on any animosity.
Had my share of potatoes, soda bread and scungilli though.
Well we sure do fuck up a lot. I was a teen mom before MTV paid girls to be one. Thankfully my daughter did not follow in my footsteps.
We do drink on Holidays but don't throw punches. Rare for the Black Irish.
Well the royals are pretty fucked up, so I say it's good you don't have that blood. Your ancestors may have lost their heads! It's pretty amazing that you can trace your heritage back so far.
