Marriage is for the church
Civil union is for gays and lesbians
The sacrament of marriage is for the Church.
When you get married, you get a "marriage license" from the state. When you have the ceremony performed, that is the sacrament of marriage by the institution governing your faith.
I dig. But using the word marriage makes church wackos have all the fuel to make shit like this fail.
I support gay marriage. Then they can get divorced like the rest of us.
It only fails if you allow them to deliberately obfuscate the matter with the dual meaning of the term.
We're not looking for religious leaders to marry us. We're only looking to receive the same license opposite-sex couples get.
My single biggest problem with the issue is how the "Christian" right wingers seem to believe that religious freedom means THEM being free to impose THEIR values on everyone else. If they can't force the rest of the country to live the way want them to (and not necessarily how they themselves live), they start screaming how their faith is being assaulted, they are under attack!!!
How about no.
Why, you want people to think you're normal too?
gay marriage is for faggots.
Batman and Robin support whatever this thread is really about
OMG, the streaming media server that the state of NJ uses has got to be from 1996.
It keeps cutting out like every 20 seconds to a 2 minutes.
IE, FF, Chrome, hell even Real Player.
well, we know I'm not normal, but that doesn't mean I shouldn't be treated equally in the eyes of the law.
First, yikes, did she really say that?
Second, damn, age is a hell of a drug.
of course....and besides if more people would get married...theres extra money to the state for the licenses .....rental of banquet halls...dj's food caterers ...etc.....im for it
^but not with this "separate but equal" shit.
im not sure of the separate equal deal...every one is equal or should be any way...but as bad as the economy is...when i think of the weddings ive been to or participated in....it is not cheap ....like i said from the marriage license to renting motels and dance halls....why would they not want that....ponderous
It passed 41-33 but that giant douchebag governor of ours is gonna veto it.
