Saw this in today's paper and thought "I have to post this to Dawg's"...

This woman met a man who claimed to be a British secret agent (I kid you not) and eventually scammed her for thousands. Now her NJ State Assemblyman is introducing a bill making such activities a crime. She is on the front page of the Philly Daily News today.

    http://www.philly.com/philly/living...eception_could_become_a_criminal_offense.html

The 37-year-old suburban-mom-turned-activist is the inspiration behind a bill in New Jersey that would make sexual assault by deception a crime.

"Meanwhile, Lewis, whose dating horror story was chronicled in the Daily News last year and later on NBC's "Dateline," is recuperating from the shock of discovering that the man she met on an online dating site back in 2013 was a con artist."

Sure, let's have the long arm of the law follow you around on dates to make sure all parties involved are on the up-and-up. Oh, and maybe the gummint' should have a certification service for online dating, since you shouldn't rely on your own common sense.

Come on lawyers: is this fraud in the inducement? fraud in the factum? or fraud in the execution?

If this guy defrauded her out of thousands of dollars, then fine, prosecute him for that. The necessary laws already exist. But don't let these fucking politicians create some sort of twisted universe where every aspect of a relationship eventually gone bad can be later picked over by lawyers looking for the slightest shred of some inconsequential lie told, or misdeed done, all in the hopes of giving a jilted lover the ability to maliciously prosecute the former object of their obsession. This is a bad idea on a thousand levels.

Here I thought we were talking about a sensible bill that creates new laws to further punish those who make fraudelent sex crime accusations.

Of course not, let's make a useless law that no one cares about

Take everyone's mind off of the billions in unfunded pensions uhhhhg

I don't have the book with me right now, but I believe Camille Paglia wrote words stating, dating is inherently risky. You're taking a risk - accept that.

(And, I think she should count herself lucky to have a date, sheesh .... )

Politicians authoring legislation for no other reason than to justify their existence being goaded on by lawyers seeking out new ways to turn a buck.

    Lather, rinse, repeat.

If that pig wears a girdle, slimming jeans, dyes her hair or has a pushup bra I am still going to fuck her but I'm gonna sue her afterward for deceiving my turgid shaft.

Yeah, and I'm sure she never sent the man a photo of her when she was slimmer, younger or taken under the best of lighting conditions. If lying about your job to get laid is a crime for a man then women should be thrown in jail for all the lies and tricks they use to bamboozle men online into meeting them.

Does Katie Lee Joel fall under the statute of limitations for this crime?
