Why is a college investigating an alleged crime? If the girl thinks she was raped, shouldn't she go to the police? If the legal system finds the guy guilty, then expel him and take his credits. As it stands, this sounds like a bunch of militant feminists who are too willing to believe that all men are rapists, so no evidence is needed.

Of course, if the accused was handy with a football, this wouldn't be an issue.

    Stern related for some reason...

Its now criminal to be white, have a penis, and use it for heterosexual activities.

Sounds similar to the Conti family at Westlake High. The older brother who was student body president was protecting his 14 year old sister from being harassed by one of the football players and he ends up getting suspended. The principal stood up for the football player.

"She filed the complaint with the University about five months later but never contacted the police."

Sounds like someone got spurned or cheated on.

Op needs to understand the meaning of the phrase "due process under law"... He isn't being arrested for rape, thus he is not due a trial. If the university feels like expelling him based on an accusation, up they're welcome to do it. If they're overreaching, they'll be sued. My thought is that they wouldn't take such actions unless there's credibility in her claim. Since they have the evidence and you don't... I'll believe them... Based on their actions alone.

In elementary school I got suspended a day for asking the teacher why it's hotter at the equator. He told the principal I was mocking him. :jj:

well, I read an article about it, apparently her mother read her diary and made the complaint. According to the news account the girl herself never filed a complaint of any kind. But you are right, due process doesn't attach here. However, the university has to abide by their policies and procedures.

    Apparently not

Marcus Evans, a parent who claims to have witnessed the incident at a home game against Simi Valley (Calif.) Royal in October, interrupted the press conference and declared, "They choked the little kid, the little African-American kid. He didn't do anything. He was trying to get away from the dad."

As a result of the confrontation, Dominic Conti was reportedly suspended for five days and stripped of his class presidency. The football player received a two-day suspension, according to CBS Los Angeles.

Nowadays, teachers just make up the answer or tell the student to Google it.
