Let them eat IEDs.
Got moved to the politics forum
Well, we all think we have it so bad and are constantly bitching about this and that and whatever but we should be thankful for all the awesome shit we can do in this country. None of it would be possible without the men and women that fight to protect our way of life and fight for others to have the same rights. I want to thank every member of our armed services for all they have given for this great country of ours.
Clockwise from the upper left, my older brother, my cousin, my sister, my sister, my cousin, my nephew, me, my nephew, my pops. Not included are another sister, two nieces, and another nephew.

Yes, here's to the Vets.
My grandfather served in WWII and one of my uncles went to Vietnam. My grandmother told the government they would not take "both of her boys" so the oldest one was sent and the younger one stayed home with a cushy job. My uncle who went to Vietnam still will not talk about it to this day.
My dad doesn't talk about it either. I've seen him stone cold drunk and he still won't unless it a story about one of his friends doing something funny. He was a grunt so I know there's some bad shit in his head.
Yes, I don't want to imagine the stuff those soldiers went through. A few years ago I was planning a trip to Southeast Asia and I was really excited about it. I told my uncle I was planning on going to Vietnam, almost wishing he would tell me a little about it over there. He didn't even smile at me, he just got up and left the room. I learned how truly naive I was.
I've been to the tomb of the unknowns but didn't know they yell at you if youre an asshole.
Maybe next time tell him your gonna go visit Uncle Ho
