I heard the 2009 interview again. "Play the music" at least 4 times when the interview got stale. Plus, he thought Paul was going to stop for him at the Apollo concert. :snicker: Nice try.

I thought McCartney was more than accomodating to Howard during that interview. The guys been doing interviews since the early 60's and is arguably the biggest rockstar/songwriter alive and could give a flying fuck about Howard. The best was when Howard got bummed because he found out that the guitar that McCartney gave him was not purchased by Paul it was laying around the Stern offices and all he did was sign it and hand it to him. People would kill for that item and Howard acted like a spoiled punk.

Exactly; nothing to add to telecaster's summary.

McCartney came for an album no one gave a fuck about. I'm a fan but come on. And Ringo?

    Exactly.

Because Howard expects his gifts from celebrities to have some substantial financial value. Howard realy doesn't care about Paul's signature on a guitar, he wanted one of Paul's personal guitars signed since it could possibly have a higher dollar figure attached to it should he decide to part with it. Same thing with the Ironman mask; Howard pouted and cried that he wanted one that was actually used in the film. He is not a collector of memorabilia for the sake of having it, he wants it to have a certain dollar value because that is all he gives a shit about.

Howard's voice was classic when Paul gave him that - "WHOOOAA!"

Haha - then the comedown when he found out he didn't record Revolver with it.

I loved that Paul blew him off in front of his daughter.

I think a lot of it might trace back to the 9/11 Benefit where Howard was such a douche/prima donna

UGH this was the end for me. I was annoyed by Howard for a long time but the temper tantrum over the Iron Man mask was just gross and pathetic.

Classic was when Sir Paul basically told Howchie to shut the fuck up and let him answer the question. So much for being the world best interviewer.

That this happened in front of Chris Rock was even better. :marx:
