Need to cancel one. Accidently posted twice.
At least they were convicted, but let's face it - it happens every day ....
Eleven out of 12 former Atlanta educators have been convicted of racketeering for participating in a massive cheating conspiracy, the Associated Press is reporting.
The criminal cheating trial in Atlanta could send the school teachers to prison for up to 20 years for allegedly violating a law originally enacted to go after mobsters.

The article says that if teachers refused to cheat, they faced retaliation from the ringleaders.
Wow, that is some serious mobbery.
Even the LA Times called it a scandal.
Atlanta schools cheating scandal: 11 educators convicted of racketeering
I remember this - one guy reported the cheating; they fired him ....
They called it racketeering. I had no real idea what that really was.
I just lost my job over essentially the same thing. My boss refused to do anything about (literally) millions of dollars we were losing due to incompetence and laziness from a different department. We talked about it dozens of times, and my boss admitted that he had to do something. He didn't. He's famous for doing nothing. I gave him six months to show some leadership and he just bullshitted me and never changed a thing. The losses accelerated.
So I made our Finance people aware of the losses, and told them to budget for more over 2015. That was my responsibility; I wasn't being petty or anything. Finance elevated the problem to upper management and to solve the problem, they fired me. Shoot the messenger.
Fortunately, I just landed an easier job for more money and over a month's vacation time per year. I plan to make a lot of money for my new employer, and to chill out for a couple of years. Love that I get a month of vacation each year. Coolness.
This NEVER happens!
Did your old place have to give you a reference?
No, my former employer is well-known as a dysfunctional entity in the business. They churn through people as though they're paper towels. The old company is basically disintegrating from within due to idiot management and laziness. They could fuck up a peanut butter and jelly sandwich (but they'd spend a lot of time and effort fucking it up).
The new employer has hired a couple of people from my old company, and already they've grown their business by leaps and bounds by gaining new accounts from my old company. I expect that the new company will double in size within three years by just taking on the same accounts.
And I'm fairly well-known since I was growing my area by huge percentages while the rest of the company suffered. Basically, I was kicking ass, and that was not welcome within the dysfunctional company.
But I worked like a crazy person for a couple of years, and I was worn out and cranky. I'm looking forward to being more "normal" with an appreciative company.
The old company was really, really liberal and "making money" was not a priority. Peoples' feelings were a priority. And if you were not accepting of their lack of effort/results, you were told that you were not respecting their "feelings."
I could give two fucks about their feelings. Had a bad day? Cry to your spouse. I paid for their salaries, trucks and laziness out of my $25mm budget, and I expect that they would do what they PROMISED to do. If you needed my help or more money, just ask. I wanted success and was willing to pay/promote for it.
Because I expected that they would do what they said they would do, I was labeled as a mean guy.
At no point did I ever set expectations. I always had the employees set the expectations. When they did not honor their commitments, I pushed them for updated timetables and results. When they failed to deliver on updated timetables, I elevated the issue.
That got me exactly nowhere.
Glad to be gone from that nightmare. Competing against those idiots will be too easy.
"Your honor, see that big white guy in the back, it's all his fault. If he wasn't so racist, we wouldn't a had to cheat."
It really is a shame that these teachers in a liberal run City, steal more from the students and taxpayers. They really need school vouchers.
Has anyone heard/seen this debacle reported here?
The democrat reggies strike again.
You know it's bad when teacher can't pronounce the words 'ASK' and 'SPECIFIC' properly.
I had a similar thing happen long ago. They were wasting tens of thousands each month yet telling me my guys couldn't have raises and my idiot boss was even pressuring me to eliminate one of them. I was actually under-staffed for the workload. So I wrote a detailed analysis of how they could easily save thousands of dollars a month through a simple way of eliminating waste and detailed how they were spending money to ship and warehouse worthless items, shipping them back and forth between Tampa and Atlanta repeatedly. I got a "impressive, thanks", but nothing changed.
Finally I had had enough and told them to give me the freedom to fix it , I wasn't going to work for some incompetent organization that didn't care about profits but then claimed there wasn't money for raises and bonuses. A month later, they fired me. Best thing that ever happened.
