She was behind some very enjoyable movies. Harry Met Sally, Sleepless in Seattle, You Got Mail, Silkwood and Julie and Julia. Very talented screenwriter.

Agree. And it was autobiographicoe.
Her masterpiece was Silkwood.

I heard about this after work today. Don't know her, thought she was some correspondent on CNN. Guess she wrote some good books. Goo fo her. College ruined reading for me - and worrying about life shit clogs up my brain, I only read books called movies on television. But hey, RIP
Hwood lost a truly talented screenwriter. Unfortunately we're in the age of reboots and remakes so unless you're a film buff, her passing won't mean much.
One of the best...also, married to Carl Bernstein...of Woodward/Bernstein...Watergate fame.
and later to nicholas pileggi, author of wise guy--which was later made into goodfellas.
No worries...her Playboy layout is still being released in September.
yep....LOVE her films...(it's You've Got Mail btw)
and she was married to Carl Bernstein (Watergate)...the movie Heartburn based on her marriage to him!
Sad to hear...
peace & love
