My uncle retired and moved to North Carolina earlier this year. He has been asking everyone in the family to come down and visit him and my aunt.

Decided to go down for a few days Columbus Day week. He is about an hour drive from Greensboro, Durham, Raleigh and Fayetteville.

Looking for any suggestions on food, attractions, events, places of interest, etc. TIA :hat:

You would think a Hippster Dufus like Dave would be right at home in Asheville.

It's a great town for an old hippie pot head, I don't know where he was but he wasn't in the Asheville I know and love. I would retire there in a heartbeat!

North Carolina is nice. I've spent most of my time on the coast though. Beautiful beaches there.

whats great about the outer banks is that is still so fucken quaint & secluded because its still hard to get to. people will chose va. beach or myrtle beach over the hassle & seclusion of the ob...love those ferry rides from each island. that is one windy fucken place. wright bros knew what they were doing
