Florida woman, 36, is accused of sex with 2 minors and using the line ‘Age is just a number’ Barbara Kirby of Leesburg allegedly gave alcohol to two boys in December and then had sex with them. She also threatened to kill one of the boys afterward. He reported her to police two days later and she was arrested Tuesday. BY Jason Silverstein NEW YORK DAILY NEWS Wednesday, January 21, 2015, 8:57 PM Lake County Sheriff Barbara Kirby, 36, allegedly drugged two minors in her home and had sex with them, threatening to kill one if he told people about it. That logic won’t hold up in court. A 36-year-old Florida woman charged with having sex with a minor told the boy “age is just a number” right before taking advantage of him. Barbara Kirby, of Leesburg, also threatened the boy after their encounter, telling him, “if you tell anyone about what we did, I will kill you,” the Orlando Sentinel reports. The boy, who is between 12 and 15, told Kirby’s comments to police during interviews in December. An affidavit said a second boy told a similar story in December about having sex with Kirby. Both boys said she gave them an intoxicating drink in her home before they had sex. The boy who got the “age” remark said that after having Kirby’s drink on Dec. 11, he felt lightheaded and passed out. When he woke up, Kirby undressed and had sex with him, WKMG reports. He went to police two days later. Kirby was arrested Tuesday after cops noticed her car during an unrelated call. She’s been charged with lewd battery on a minor and tampering with a victim and is being held on $25,000 bail. Kirby admitted to having sex with one of the boys but wouldn’t answer any police questions about it.
