Seriously, what could possibly go wrong with the Government having the banks make risky loans?

I need to point out this is an old article but for some reason no one has talked about this strategy.

"Housing officials are urging the Justice Department to provide assurances to banks, which have become increasingly cautious, that they will not face legal or financial recriminations if they make loans to riskier borrowers who meet government standards but later default."

Its an older article but no one has talked about how stupid this is. Its almost like the media doesn't talk about the insanity that is DC these days.

I wonder just who these "people" are that Obama wants the banks to lower their lending standards for? :GL:

Larry Summers and Robert Reich say "Hi".

Wait until the derivative crash from fucking school loans......shit's going sideways. If I was Shrillary, I wouldn't want that job.

The media doesn't but everyone else is talking. That's why Trump and Bernie are viable.

The three legs of the progressive propaganda machine are the media, the entertainment industry and academia. All must be supported no matter the cost.

The TV commercials have been springing up again, too: No money, no credit? Get a mortgage! I can't entirely blame the banks, who are fucking greedy whores. Actually, not whores since you at least get something from working gals. I blame more the mindless, ignorant, gotta-get-me-some "innocents" who can't afford a subway ride but want to be in a house they know they'll never be able to pay for!

If you can't pay the money back, don't borrow it. It's as simple as that.

    Basic fact of life:

Never trust any political party that gets it power from the have-nots of society.

    basic logical reaction:

A great way to combat that would be to not support policies that create more have-nots.

oh, it's horribly misguided in all sorts of ways - the first one being the assumption that the premise is true. :)
