Seriously. I am sure back in the day when Robin was getting the news faxed to her through an AP newswire she put some work into creating her News segment. Literally now it seems that it is cut and pasted from Yahoo News, CNN, MSNBC, The New York Post, Google, USA Today, etc. I woke up this morning and saw on Yahoo a story about Amazon possibly using drones to deliver packages. I thought for a second how odd of a story it was and probably had misleading facts. I then turn on the Stern Show at 10:00am and Robin is reading this story line for line. Here is what I fail to understand. 1.) Today the news is available online, so why do we need a radio news segment on a show based on entertainment? 2.) You start the news at 10:00am. Most people are at work or read the news you are talking about. 3.) Stern has downsized every single aspect of his show. The work week. The hours per day. The staff. The Howard TV team. The Howard News team. The on-air staff. There is not one single piece of The Howard Stern show that he has not been reduced in one form or another. Except...Robin's news. The least interesting part of the show. It ranks right up there with taking phone calls from Bobo as a Fuck You to the listeners. The sad part is if the executives at Sirius, or every listerner contacted Howard and said to eliminate the News segment there is no way he would do it. He loves to punish the audience.
