Went to the Detroit show. Wasn't bad. Car companies are again putting money into those shows. They weren't so good the last several years.

I go most every year. I remember how dismal things were a few years back during the bail out year.

Some companies didn't even bother showing up to Detroit. I think Nissan and Porsche were absent among others. The stuff the ones who showed up brought was way scaled down.

I go every year, but I have to admit, the last 5 years or so have been kind of disappointing.

I remember going as a kid, back then it was like halloween without the get ups. Every manufacturer had some nice gifts, and they would always have a cool car section with cars such as the Batmobile (the original one) and the Munsters roadster among others. Now all you get is the same pamphlets you get at the dealership, plus you have to give them an e-mail address in order to get some of the stuff.

I'd love to go and see all of the cool concept cars that the manufacturers display.

It seems that nowadays more and more of the concepts are actually being built as opposed to back in the day.

scores girls. they get the same bucks for working the shows and they don't have anyone they don't want, pawing them.

that show always makes me depressed. to have a car in new york i would have to pay apt rent for a garage space.

some are, some are from other clubs, some are from modeling agencies. i suspect the ones with speaking roles are actresses, because they probably have to be union to perform, but then they would get paid scale, which is way less than the club girls would get.
