    It was news yesterday.

But the tax credit portion wasn't emphasized by Howard.

this is what happens when you let unelected beerocrats have access to your money. the multi millions of tax dollars these chumps piss away every year is outrageous, but as citizens don't seem to give a shit, they get away with murder. it's their money and they will jail you to get it. :flag:

....just to shed some light on the subject, the Post isn't exactly right here. (Gee, the Post not right?). The entertainment industry is booming right now in NYC. There are studios in Brooklyn and Queens getting lots of projects, movies, tv shows etc. all because of these tax breaks. In turn for the tax breaks these companies pay for the studios, which leads to revenue for the state via taxes and provide jobs and business for many companies all who profit and thrive on this. If it werent for the tax breaks, these companies would stay in California or go to places like Newark to save money. So, while NYS gives the tax breaks it more than makes up for it in other areas.

Shit, if the government in NY gives welfare to these rich entertainment types, shouldn't the tax-payers be able to write off, say, SiriusXM subs as dependents?

There are just so many times studios can get away with using Canada when they're doing a movie/TV show set in NYC. In other words, the tax breaks don't have to be that large to get them here because they need NYC more than NYC needs them.
