I'm still figuring out where and when I'll go on vacation.

I'll either go north to Prince Edward Island or south to Hawaii. Just me since my bf can't take vacation w/me this year. Trip is going to primarily be nature-based.

I could either fly Economy or First Class to Hawaii. It's a $1,200 difference in cost!

The flight from NYC to LAX is only 3 hours so if I had to fly coach, that's not so bad.

Flight to Honolulu is another 3 or 4 hours. Again, if coach, that's not so bad.

Of course, First Class is baller and I HAVE the cash to spend on First Class but I find it a little hard to justify on only two short flights.

And I'm not even taking into account the fees for the hotels, extra excursion flights to other islands/meals, etc.

What would you do if you were in this situation?

If that $1200 isn't going to cramp your wallet, by all means go first class. That's a very long fucking flight to be scrunched up like a sardine. Plus you'll get meals, snacks, drinks whenever you want them.

My advice...fly coach, but use the money you would have spent on first class to stay over in LA both coming and going so you can at least give your internal clock a little time to adjust and readjust to the time differences. I love Hawaii...one of my favorite spots but the time difference and jet lag ruins the first few days for me...please take tons of pics and share them!

You are giving me excellent tips and feedback.

DrSub, yes, there'd be a brief layover in LA.

Chriza, the nose end first would be better than the wing tip for starters, that's for sure.

Fatkid, I have another $907,000 to go before I can achieve that lovely title!

I don't think she is taking time zone changes into account. That's gotta be 12 hours flight time at least.
