This thread is all about alcohol.

This thread is Stern related because he gets 'high off wine' and I love wine, but I've never gotten "high" off of it.

I'm a bartender. I like damn near everything except gin, spiced rum, cheap wine, Cali chardonnay, light beer and IPA's.

    what's your poison? I'm currently on a whiskey/bourbon kick.

Single malt scotch. I spend $600+ per month on my nightly scotch habit. I fucking love it.

Any IPA Beer I'll Usually Drink. I've also been on a Junior Johnson Moonshine kick for the past year. I rarely drink but when I do... Its these two items.

    What bourbons?
    If Im mixing it Beam.
like Knob Creek and Woodford neat, but I like almost all bourbons neat.

Same with Makers, but that's a "Wheated" bourbon.
    then there's rye.
    I've been drinking rye whiskey...:ucboy:

My father in law brought a signed bottle of the shine back from Bristol. I tried a few shots, not bad. One of my neighbors makes I nice moonshine that you can actually stand to sip but it must not be an extremely high alc %.

Did a 'Single malt tour' once at a corporate event. 10 single malt tastings from all over Scotland, complete with explanation of their provenance, flavor, etc. was really cool. Also learned why you should never put it on the rocks.

IMO single malts should be neat only, but some people water it down with ice. If you want it cold it's better to use frozen stones in the glass because they won't water it down. I prefer it room temp.

I love gin, ideally Tanqueray No.10. I keep the gin & glasses in the freezer, add the juice of half a lime (per glass), plenty of ice & good tonic.

Never did like gin, but if you come across it, try Junipero, it's not at all like most gins, makes a killer martini.

and Corsair Triple Smoke bourbon, I like the small batch better than the single barrel, ymmv.
