Maybe this will ruin your vapid day Illinois grandma killed her grandkids’ cat, 4 kittens with hammer because they wouldn’t clean their rooms: police BY Lee Moran NEW YORK DAILY NEWS Wednesday, May 20, 2015, 10:16 AM Madison County Sheriff's Office Josephine Bell was arrested on aggravated animal cruelty charges after she allegedly killed the cats of her grandchildren when they wouldn't clean their rooms. An Illinois granny savagely battered her grandchildren's cat and four kittens to death with a hammer after the youngsters refused to tidy their rooms, police said. Josephine Bell allegedly threatened to "take away" the five defenseless animals after getting angry at the children's lack of cleanliness at the family's Godfrey home, reports KTVI. The 71-year-old is then accused of carrying out her warning on Sunday night. Bell was busted the next evening after her 13-year-old granddaughter opened her freezer to look for a snack and discovered her dead cat inside. She texted another relative, who then called cops. Madison County investigators arrived and Bell allegedly confessed to killing the pets and throwing the kittens in the garbage. It's not known why she kept the adult cat in the freezer. She was charged with aggravated animal cruelty. If convicted, Bell could face between one to three years in prison.
