I LOVE the fuck outta this Dyson - never wanted to spend that much on a vacuum, but Costco i guess had some older ones sellin' for less than 300 and I snatched one right up.

i have the canister model. all the others advertised on TV that i tried leak and fall apart in days. i don't know how the hotels afford to replace the non-dysons they all seem to use (well at least according to the vacuum manufacturers commercials). maybe the maufacturers Or their reps give them to the hotels for free?

The real pisser was that we bought about 5 vacuums over the past 8 years...probably spent cummulatively about 700 bucks! Would have been better off buying the dyson for 500 bucks 8 years ago.

Hotels seem to use Orecks for some reason. The Dysons seem gimmicky and leaky to me -- the primary seal is barely held in place.

I've owned this one about 9 months now - and I literally fight over who gets to vacuum. Its design actually gets me slightly stiff - not full-on boner but a little chubbed up. I had a Hoover previously to this one which cost about 199.99 and that thing was the biggest piece of shit. I would constantly have to take it apart just to clear the hose and we have since got a dog (in addition to the cat we already had) and the Dyson is a fucking champ! Its not even the special pet-hair model.

Those are stupid. It's nearly impossible to stick your hands in there without your hands and/or arms rubbing up against the same surface as every other person who washed their hands poorly.

When I first saw one I couldn't believe how stupidly designed and unsanitary they were. A filthy blow dryer or cloth towel roll is far more practical and sanitary (not to mention cheaper).

So how do you keep your hands and arms from hitting the edges as you put them in and pull them out? As far as I can tell one may as well be wiping one's hands off on the counter.

I've had one almost exactly like that for about 5 years now. I love the damn thing. I've never had one problem with filters are easily cleaned out. There is a sponge type filter under the lid in mine that gets washed and then drip dried. To chill my wife out on the cost when we first bought it, I ran out regular vac first. Then I ran the Dyson and the canister almost filled up.:jj:
