    Still waiting for the 1st AGT commercial on any of the NBC channels.... maybe it's a slow build and there will be one next week

    When AGT returns and its ratings sink even lower, Howard can use the excuse that the Olympics broke up AGT's huge momentum and the slow build will have to start over again.

    The Super Bowl was on NBC. Usually the advertising barely covers the cost they have to pay to the NFL to air it. Other than the cost to make it the commercial was free. The network has several spots an hour that are not for sale and used to promote their own products. It the real reason they want the game to begon with. To advertise thier own stuff in front of the biggest TV audience of the year.

    In Economics it's called "Opportunity Cost", all networks that broadcast the Superbowl can promote their own shows, or take the cool hard cash an advertiser would pay them.

    Given their shit lineup as the #4 network, maybe they had no alternatives on shows to promote, but they could have always taken $3.5MM from Chevy or Anheuser-Busch, etc.

    Given the 20+% drop in ratings, do you think NBC thinks the money forgone (not to mention production costs of commercial) were worth it?
