currently there are 4000 American Red Cross workers and volunteers in Louisiana doing damage assessment, health care , sheltering & feeding. They have been there since August 15 th or so. May are beginning to rotate home after working long days in hot weather. Most are volunteers and have left home from all over the country and need to get back, to jobs and families.
If you are currently available to deploy for 1-2 weeks there Is the possibility you could get trained in a very short time and be on the ground to assist a great national relief agency. Hurricane season isn't over yet , this situation will continue at least till October.
If you can't come please think of sending a donation in any amount to The American Red Cross. Neighbors Helping Neighbors.
