Man charged with OUI after McDonald’s drive-thru crash SWANSEA, Mass. (WPRI) — A Swansea man was arrested Friday after police said he drunkenly rolled his pickup truck over in a McDonald’s parking lot. Police responded to the McDonald’s at the intersection of Routes 6 and 136 at about 2:15 p.m. and arrived to find the truck on its passenger side. The driver, identified as Andrew Estes, told police he was not injured. Police suspected Estes was under the influence and placed him under arrest. Eyewitnesses told police the truck spun its tires in the drive-thru lane, the front tire went up onto the curb and the driver overcompensated, causing the vehicle to hit the building and roll over onto its side. Police said the building was substantially damaged. Estes, 23, of Calef Avenue, is charged with operating under the influence of alcohol, negligent operation of a motor vehicle, and possession of more than 1 ounce of marijuana.
